Nitro Psychopomp aged in Ruby Port barrel     Vintage 11.21.17


Our Brew master thinks this is the best beer we have ever made. A ‘Psychopomp’ is a creature, spirit or angel found in most religions that escorts and guides newly deceased souls to the afterlife. And that’s exactly what this beer will feel like. It’s a mahogany brown color with wonderful layers of malt. We smoked just a touch of malt over a mix of cherry wood and pecan wood – but the smokiness is so very subtle. The flavors imparted by the ruby port barrel add a grape fullness and silkiness. The nitrogen adds a heavenly creaminess and softness. You’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven after one of these.

French Oak Barrel Aged Psychopomp


This is the same delicious Psychopomp beer described above but we have aged it in a wonderful French Oak Barrel. Try one before it’s gone!

Old Timey Bourbon Barrel Barleywine $9.95/Schwenker

What a beautiful beer. Barleywines are such a perfect style of beer. Ours is brewed with English barley and boiled for over 4 hours to achieve a nice depth of malt flavor. We were lucky to get a Fiddler Bourbon barrel from our friends at ASW, the local distiller of the wonderful Fiddler Bourbon. We aged our barleywine in there for about 6 months. Rich, luscious and full of beer goodness.

American Beauty               


American Beauty is our Black Beauty aged in an American whiskey barrel from Jack Daniels. This whiskey barrel added a touch of cereal-grain sweetness with delicate touches of oak, char and toasted almonds. The vanilla flavors imparted from the barrel go especially well with the chocolate and dark fruits already found in the Black Beauty.

This beer is part of the Serenade Series and was inspired by the music of Miles Davis in the early 70s. I played Miles’ music to the yeast during fermentation, conditioning and aging periods. It definitely made the beer more funky.

Cask ales are a thing of beauty and one of life’s great pleasures. It is a traditional British way of making and serving beer. It is served around 53°F and is less carbonated. The flavors are more forward. We change our cask offering very regularly.


Decadent Brown Ale      $5/Pint

This beer has a complex layering of flavors. From the malt side there are rich notes of chocolate, berry, toast, biscuits, and toffee. It is quite hoppy for a brown ale with a spicy, earthy and even fruity hop character.

Light and Easy

Golden Number Ale      $5/pint
Golden ales are a delicate balance of malt and hops. To achieve this perfect balance, we based the ratio of malt and hops upon the actual golden number, the Fibonacci Sequence, or Phi as the Greeks knew it. This number’s pervasive appearance throughout nature creates a sense of balance, harmony and beauty in art, architecture, composition, space – and now beer! Some believe this number is a universal constant of design, the signature of God. (Some believe it is a perfect ratio of malt and hops.)  And for those of you playing along at home, the actual number is 1.6180339887…

Venus         $5/pint

Be careful. This beer is named after the Goddess of Love for a reason. It is rumored to have powerful effects on those who dare to imbibe! It is a Belgian white beer and brewed with orange peel and coriander as well as wheat, barley and a touch of oats. So try a pint and turn your love light on!

Watermelon Wheat       $6/pint

We somehow managed to fit 500 lbs of fresh, local, organic watermelons into this American Wheat beer. It is very refreshing. The American Wheat is not the same as a hefeweizen being that they use a different yeast strain. Therefore, it does not have a banana/clove character.

Haiku Trippel     $9.95/13.3 oz Schwenker

Trippels are one of the most beautiful, wonderful beers ever brewed by man. There is just something majestic about them. No simple

beer description could capture that. So I had to write a haiku for the description.

Juicy Belgian Golden     $5/Schwenker

A lighter bodied beer with a beautiful gold color. Although not bitter at all, it is full of tropical fruit, melon and white wine like flavors and aromas.

Freudian Slip Vienna Lager        $5/Pint

Subconsciously you desire this beer.   This beautiful, stunning lager is nice to look at in its tall, thin, shapely glass. It has a light amber color, like a strawberry blonde. It has a firm, supple, creamy head. It is smooth, but with great body. It’s malty, sweet aroma lingers like a lover’s scent on a pillow. It will leave you wanting, desiring more. (How’s that for some Freudian Slips?) But seriously, it is brewed with German malted barley, European noble hops and lagered for two months. ENJOY!

Oktoberfest Lager $6.95 for 1/2 liter stein

It is a traditional German Oktoberfest lager brewed with all German barley, European noble hops, and has been lagered - or conditioned – for three months. It has an amber color and a smooth, beautiful, soft maltiness from the German barley. Prost!

Hoppy and Refreshing

Best of Both Worlds IPA       $6.50/Pint

Can’t decide if you want an old school West Coast IPA or a new tropical IPA? Well, no need to worry. We hopped this one in the kettle with some typical West Coast hops – Cascade, Simcoe, Amarillo, Falconers and Columbus. These have flavors of pine, citrus, grapefruit and orange. Then we dry hopped it in the fermentation tank with newer Citra and Huel Melon hops. These have beautiful aromas of tropical fruits, mango, papaya, pineapple, ripe honeydew melon, cantaloupe, and strawberry. It’s the Hannah Montana of IPAs!


Mikshake IPA      $6.50/pint
OoLala, lookkee here at what we just did. We added fresh fruit, real vanilla bean and a bit of lactose sugar to our IPA. Yes, it’s tasty.

Tom Brady Avenue NE IPA       $6.50/Pint

New England IPAs are all the rage. Cloudy, smooth and with loads of tropical fruity hop aromas and flavors. This one is a nod to the Golden Boy of New England and the street on the next block. We brewed ours with all English barley and a good bit of oats. All of the hops went into the whirlpool – which means that it has a BIG aroma with very little bitterness. We added loads and loads of Citra, Nelson, Equinox, El Dorado, Huell Melon and Mandarina - and then even more Citra – then we dry hopped it three times with Citra, Huell Melon and more Nelson.    





Fuller-Bodied Big Beers

Choice of Cabernet Aged or Chardonnay Aged

Saisons are a Belgian farmhouse style of beer from the French speaking part of Belgium. They use a unique yeast strain that behaves differently than other beer yeasts and produces an incredible array of flavors – tropical fruit, stone fruit, exotic spices and a wonderful earthiness. This yeast behaves more like a wine yeast and historically perhaps originated from a winery. To explore this connection to wine we brewed a big saison and aged some in a couple of different wine barrels. The bit of age in our Cellar has helped deepen the complexity even further.

Trippels are one of the most beautiful, wonderful beers ever brewed by man. There is just something majestic about them. Gold in color, with slightly fruity aromas – and deceptively strong. Many a bad/good decision has been made after drinking Trippel. This one has aged 2.25 years in our Cellar and a deep honey and honeysuckle character has emerged. The Nitro adds a creamy smoothness to the beer.

A light and refreshing buckwheat and sorghum based beer. Fairly hoppy with a citrus nose. Best gluten free beer you will ever taste.

Brewed originally as a collaboration with The Porter Beer Bar, this limited lacto-fermented sour balances beautifully against flavors of lavender and bergamot from the addition of Earl Grey tea.


Rapturous by Three Taverns (Decatur, GA)       $5/Can

A lacto-fermented sour ale, matured on raspberry puree with a wheat and pilsner malt base, it refreshes with a tart and alluring fruit-forward flavor profile.


Alchemy Stones by Paradox (Divide, CO)             $19.95/500mL

Barrel-aged wild sour golden fruit ale with a mixed yeast and bacterial culture that produces notes of big overripe stone fruit, peaches, plums, nectarines and apricots. Re-fermenting this barrel blend on grilled stone fruit further emphasizes the taste of their luscious golden flesh.

Magnificent aroma, delicate palate of raspberries with undertones of fruity acidity; elegant, sparkling clean taste, with inviting raspberry supported by lambic complexity. Deep reddish-purple color with pink head.

Boon Kriek                                                                        $9.95/12.7oz

Abv 4%

Kriek Boon is a 100% spontaeous fermented beer made from a mix of young and old lambic aged in oak barrels. Real cherries are added, at least 250 gram per liter beer. Whole cherries are mixed with the beer during fermentation for optimal taste. Kriek Boon is a fresh, sweet and sour foaming redish beer with an authentic taste of cherries. Boon uses champagne cork on the bottles.
